Aviation Heritage
In Lincolnshire discover the trail of wartime airfield sites, memorials and museums. There is the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre where a 1940's airfield is brought to life with the thrilling spectacle of a taxing Avro Lancaster bomber 'Just Jane' and a fantastic flying spitfire. A must for your visit is a trip to the battle of Britain memorial flight visitors centre at RAF Coningsby for a guided tour of the hangers where a Lancaster, two hurricanes, Dakota and five spitfires can be seen as they are maintained and prepared for flight. Check their website for the departures and arrivals of this magnificent experience, only 30 minutes from Browntoft House. RAF Coningsby is also the home for the new euro fighter. The home of 617 squadron 'Dambusters' is only a few minutes from Coningsby where drinks can still be taken in the wartime squadron bar.
All of these magnificent attractions are within 32 miles of Browntoft House. (All distances are approximate).
